// what it is

What is an AI hackathon?

A hackathon is a sprint. You get a problem, a deadline and one weekend to build something that actually works. At this one, what you build uses AI: a model that predicts, classifies, generates or recommends something, applied to a real problem in the track you choose.

You don't need a team, a powerful laptop or any past AI experience. Everything runs in Google Colab in your browser, and our free workshops cover the basics before the weekend.

// tracks

The tracks

You'll pick from tracks like health, finance and climate, plus a few more we're announcing on October 27. The actual challenge for each track drops at kickoff, so nobody gets a head start. You don't have to choose a track until November 14.

// submit

What you submit

Each team submits three things before the deadline:

  1. Working code. A Google Colab notebook or a GitHub repo we can open and run.
  2. A one-page write-up on the problem, your approach, and how well it worked.
  3. A 2-minute demo video. An unlisted YouTube link or a direct upload.

Two rounds

01

Round 1: Project Review

Every submission is reviewed blind by the Veritas AI team against our published rubric. Reviewers don't see your name or school. The top projects advance to the finals.

Finals: Live Demo

Finalists present live on a public livestream: a 5-minute demo followed by questions from the judging panel of researchers and engineers from the world's leading AI labs. Winners are announced at the end of the ceremony.

// rules

The ground rules

  • All project code has to be written during the 48 hours. You can learn, practice and form your team beforehand.
  • Public datasets, open-source libraries and pre-trained models are all fair game. Just credit what you use.
  • Teams can have 1 to 3 members, from any school and any country.
  • Late submissions aren't accepted. Aim to submit at least an hour early.
